Deconstructing Fake News in Thessaloniki

Life is always about learning and sharing the gained knowledge. Following this principle we organized a local event in which we promoted all the experience and knowledge we
acquired after actively taking part in the LOOK SHARP: DECONSTRUCTING FAKE NEWS,
ERASMUS+ ACTION, which took place in Nice, FRANCE. For the event we want to thank
especially MITRA FRANCE which hosted us in Nice in November 2018.
This event of dissemination was special for us and come out to be very productive too.
The schedule was divided in three parts. Firstly we informed participants about Erasmus+ opportunities and tried to motivate them to go one step out of their comfort zone, where the opportunities exist and take the decision to finally use the upper mentioned for their
own development. We talked about learning mobillities, Erasmus Voluntary Service and of
course we didn’t skip to mention the Erasmus Young Entrepreneurs Program.Participants were really interested and were asking a lot of questions.
The second part included experienced based sharing of media tools knowledge. Especially, we discussed about fake news which are spread worldwide and bring serious consequences for the humanity. Furthermore we asked the teens if they are concerned about this issue and if they feel skilled enough to recognize the fake from the real. The majority answered that they are victims of fake news and they believe things that shouldnt. The teens showed particular interest in the videos, shooting by drone. Furthermore, they wanted to introduce it as an tool in their schools and we are sure that they are going to use it and create as we
did.
At the last stage , we wanted to give to participants apart from food for thought, also refreshment , treats and a promise to meet again in a new and exciting international learning event!
